GTA6 thread

I never cared for the GTA games, but i have seen people talking about how the protagonists of the new one are a white guy and a latina, so i looked at the trailers, outside of the fact that it's clear that they are marketing the game heavily towards blacks, what is the big deal with it? Both trailers looked mid at best to me, am i missing something? Are people really that hyped for a game that is going to be pretty much a real life casino like the previous one? It's nice to see a famele character that canonically loves white dicks tho.

I think it looks good. I've never played any gta games, I've only seen others play but judging from the trailer it looks pretty fucking good. the WMLF relationship is a breath of fresh air for modern gaming, and it seems like its gonna be a pretty big aspect of the story (they seem like they're both ride or die for each other), and they're both conventionally attractive to boot. I think the main reason people like these gta games is the openworld sandbox aspect to it though, they like the idea of being able to do seemingly whatever they want in a fictionalized version of an american city lol. If the player choice and sandbox elements are top notch I expect it'll be GoTY even though I personally don't care for these types of games. The hype around it was basically just internet memes made reality like the Minecraft movie stuff

Because a new GTA game hasn't come out in twelve years. Red Dead Redemption was and Elder Scrolls VI, The Witcher IV, Fallout 5 and Mafia: The Old Country will be the same. I expect this to be Rockstar's way of generating attention for their games from now on. Make a great game, take a decade to make another, rely on that nostalgia-driven hype to carry you across the finish line and use the online of the previous game funding the new one being made.

Yeah it's crazy how long they are taking to made the new one, i would like to know how much money they made with the online of GTA5...looking it up it seems to be around 9 billion dollars.

I like GTA because i like games where you go on missions that are like in a real life type situation, in the sense that you have ur armory of weapons and vehicles u buiod up and then so missions with them. That's what made online heists really good in gta5. They were the best part with friends.

the hype is real, brothers. I'm not even a big GTA fan but I gotta recognize a fire game when I see it. I'd probably buy it if I wouldn't need to upgrade all my hardware just to play it.

tbf, they make games that NEED a decade to make. If they could pump this shit out every year they absolutely would.

Two trailers, no gameplay and this guy is like "I gotta recognize a fire game when I see it" he's even retarded when it comes to gaming lol.

You can say a lot of bad things about Rockstar but you can't say that their games are poorly made. They have a pretty solid 20-year track record. Not to mention the 10+ years of hype for this game. Youtubers have made careers out of speculating when GTA6 will drop, it's in the same school as "Half Life 3" in terms of sequels people want. If Rockstar fucks this up, it will be the biggest fuckup in gaming history. Cyberpunk will look like baby shit. And Rockstar probably knows this.

Again, I'm not even a big Rockstar fan. I have a friend who is, but not me. I've only played GTA5. I just recognize that Rockstar has a good track record and this game looks to be no different.

So yes. I think it'll be at least good. I have no reason to believe otherwise.

It looks fantastic. I can only imagine just how good Liberty City will look when we get GTA 7 in 2055. Would probably include the entirety of Alderney (New Jersey), Long Island, and the greater exurbs. Probably include Carcer City too since its implied to be in the same state as LC.

As someone sitting from the sidelines as I never got into the GTA games. 6 has become rather hyped because everything we've seen so far has been an evolution of what 5 did. Speaking of 5, it's been 12 years since GTA got a mainline entry and fans of the franchise have been patiently waiting for any snippet of news since it was confirmed to be in development after RDR2 dropped in 2018. The Rockstar hack that happened in 2023 (I believe) where a lot of super early alpha footage of the game got dumped online only made the fire for more burn brighter.

Maybe, but that makes the stakes for a potential flop all the greater doesn't it? Sounds like a dangerous game to play but its their company, not mine. Hope they don't ever go through development hell. At least they're not putting out yearly COD slop that used to be about psychological warfare and nuanced perspectives on conflicts and now you play as Jigsaw or fucking 21 Savage in a battle royale. Thanks Fortnite for setting this awful trend and making COD turn itself into a joke.
