Is Photopea good editing software?

Posted under General

I lost photoshop years ago and have been using photopea anytime I wanted to make funny/shitty edits of me and my friends IRL but recently I've been interested in at least trying to start making bleached edits again - I made my first 2 and only edits with photopea which are simple censorship edits that took me like 5 minutes ( simple & clean ) H O W E V E R , I am interested in making some harder edits like Tattoos, Bleach Magazine, etc and was wondering if Photopea is capable or if i should just pirate photoshop or use another free software like GIMP since photopea is a pretty watered down version of photoshop from my experience

It's good yeah. It's basically Photoshop stripped down to run in a browser. For tat edits or skin changes it's honestly more than enough. I'd only suggest pirating PS if you want to be able to have multiple projects open at the same time. Be it for making templates or in your case having a magazine template open in a separate tab so you can adjust the finer details

GIMP is worthless. Don't bother with it

Semi-disagree. GIMP 3.0 is a lot better + with PhotoGIMP you can get a Photoshop-esque experience. I'd say it's good for skin edits or even making things like Bleached magazine edits (even if the workflow isn't 1:1 with photoshop).
But for tattoo edits? Forget it. They don't have an equivalent of the warp tool, which is pretty much required for a decent tattoo edit.

But yeah, just pirate photoshop or run photopea.
